The thing about blogging is that it gives a sense that you have an audience. That someone somewhere may be watching, and may even care — even if it’s only in hope or illusion. Otherwise there can be this unshakable feeling that art is happening in a vacuum. And that can be lonely.
So as I embark on this album project and commit to it’s completion, I’m going to try out this blogging thing along the way. Both, so I have a repository for thoughts, ideas, inspirations, charting forward movement and lack therof, and so the option is there for folks to join me on the journey.
I should mention too that I may talk about other things besides music and the album - like painting, design, photography, gardening, aesthetics, my cats, or how cute my kid is. For instance.
So it’s going to fun I think and I’m looking forward. (And holy crap, does anyone know if - or how - I can make the blog title font smaller? Ack.)
